Refugee Child Robbed and Assaulted

A case of Robbery and Assaults has happened to Mr. Lal David (age-15) S/o Mr. Run Hlei Ceu (UNHCR Number: 09C0100) living at Hastsal, Uttam Nagar. He was robbed his Rs.1400 and severely beaten up by two of the local motorcyclists on 15.1.2011 evening at round about 7:00 pm and sustained severe Back Bruises Injury.
While the victim was on his way home from his work place Janakpuri District Centre, the two local motorcyclists stopped him and robbed his Rs. 1400 and beat him up severely. He sustained severe Back Bruises Injury. Those of the thugs committing robbery and assaults fled away immediately.
The victims could manage to come home fortunately.
He was so traumatized and scared that he has already experienced these types of assaults and abuses for four times in the past.
Mr. Run Hlei Ceu’ s family is 6 with 4 minor children and fled from Burma in 2008 eventually reached New Delhi for the protection and assistance from the UNHCR. Their youngest daughter is severely suffering from Dow Syndrome and the housewife also faced attempt to rape and robbery soon after arriving New Delhi.
Mr. Run said that he is feeling quite desperate for their safety and security and for the rest of the Burmese refugees as well due to such horrible experience. And he also feels that the Burmese refugees were targeted for being a refugee.
